John is a Field Trainer working across our branch network. He says:
"I joined the Society in August 2022 as a Customer Service Adviser in our Thatcham branch. I came from a different kind of retail background and was very surprised how different and the personal approach the Society takes with their teams.
There are lots of great learning opportunities for personal development as well as charity work we can do to give back to our communities. While always having full support from my colleagues, both across the area and the teams at head office.
Since sharing my original journey with Newbury, I have now become a champion of sorts with the ability to share my experience, learnings and knowledge to my colleagues in my role as Field Trainer. I'm also a Continuous Improvement Champion, which allows me to challenge a wide range of subjects from our policies and procedures to the tools we use. The aim is to make improvements across the board which will ultimately lead to a better outcome for both our people and members."
