To change your name, please send us a secure message via myaccounts informing us of your new name.

Please provide us with supporting evidence such as a marriage or deed poll certificate. You can either provide an original document or a clear photocopy. 

Please send your supporting evidence by secure email or by post to our head office:

myaccounts team, 90 Bartholomew Street, Newbury, Berkshire, RG14 5EE.

Please contact your email provider for further information if you need help sending a secure email.

Alternatively, please visit your local branch with your documentation. 

You can only hold one nominated account across all your eligible accounts at any one time. To change your nominated account: 

  1. Log into your myaccounts profile click on 'Send a secure message' at the bottom of the page
  2. Select ‘General Query’ and ‘I have a general query’. 
  3. Please provide us with your account name, sort code and account number of your new nominated account.

In most instances we will be able to electronically verify your account, however if we cannot, we will ask you to provide us with a recent bank statement (no more than 3 months old). 

We will update your nominated account across all your eligible accounts and confirm when we have done this using the secure messaging facility. 

Please send us a secure message if you wish to change your interest payment method.

You can either have your interest paid into:

  • your Newbury Building Society account,
  • a different Newbury Building Society account in your name,
  • or to your bank account.

We will send you a secure message to confirm the change.
