Part-time HR Business Partner - Learning and Development (12 month fixed-term contract)

Location: Head office, Newbury

Hours: Monday - Friday (working days can be flexible), a choice of 21 to 28 hours per week 

Salary: £34,500 (pro-rated)

Interviews: 90 minute competency-based interview held in our head office in Newbury. We aim to interview successful applicants within 10 working days. Feedback will be provided regardless of the outcome. We reserve the right to close this vacancy at any point.

We are recruiting for a HR Business Partner to deliver our learning and development strategy on a 12 month fixed-term contract and on a part time basis (21 to 28 hours per week).

What will you be doing?

Reporting into the HR Manager you will partner with all areas of the business to ensure Newbury Building Society retains and develops skilled, enabled and engaged employees.

  • Work with HR Manager to effectively allocate and utilise budget resource to enhance and build skills for the future.

  • Support managers to build and develop leadership and coaching capability, including appropriate career development, performance management, stretch opportunities and succession planning.   

  • Follow up and progress the ongoing effectiveness of L&D initiatives. 

  • Using data driven decision making, challenge and enhance the L&D offering and processes to optimise budget, employee experience and business impact.  

  • Design, build and facilitate appropriate learning interventions.

  • Optimise, enhance and build engagement for digital learning capability by strategic deployment and development of the LMS.

  • Generalist HR duties including ER as required by business needs.

Essential skills and experience:

  • Proven experience of working with internal and/or external, customers in a business partner capacity to ensure the highest quality employee experience.

  • Evidence of excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience of designing, developing and delivering L&D solutions.

  • Experience of supporting performance management and appraisal processes.

  • Experience of administering or working with a Learning Management System or digital and online learning.

  • Competent in the use of Microsoft packages - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams.

Desirable skills and experience: 

  • Generalist HR experience including ER case management.

  • CIPD Level 3 qualification or equivalent.

  • Experience of working within Financial services or other regulated environment.
