A new charity partnership for Alton branch

Alton branch are excited to announce a new partnership with local charity, Dementia Friendly Alton.

After an incredibly close vote between local charities Dementia Friendly Alton (registered charity: 1202095) and Broadlands Equine Therapy and RDA (registered charity: 1170398), we're pleased to announce that Dementia Friendly Alton are the new charity partner of our Alton branch.

Thank you to all of our members, employees, and members of the public who voted - we received over 500 votes and it was an incredibly close contest with just a handful of votes in it.

We have been working with the wonderful Alton Foodbank for a number of years, and recently decided the time was right to support a new charity. We identified two very worthy local organisations in Broadlands Equine Therapy and RDA and Dementia Friendly Alton, and left it up to our members, employees and supporters to have the final say! After a very close vote, we are delighted to welcome Dementia Friendly Alton as our new partner and can’t wait to work with them in a long-term partnership to improve the lives of people with dementia throughout the local community.

Our charity partner scheme

Our charity partnership scheme is a big part ethos as a mutual organisation. Each of our branches are partnered with a local charity, representing a long-term commitment to work together to build a mutually beneficial relationship that betters the local community.

This new partnership will see our Alton branch working closely with Dementia Friendly Alton to fundraise, volunteer, and raise awareness. Members who have a charity savings account will also be able to choose to support Dementia Friendly Alton from 1 November 2023.

Who are Dementia Friendly Alton?

Founded in 2014, Dementia Friendly Alton facilitates partnerships with community groups, businesses and other organisations to promote a community that provides vital support to those with living with the condition. They run a variety of activities for people with dementia and their carers in the local area, including coffee mornings, dance classes, craft sessions, picnics, walks, and much more.
