We are delighted to welcome Debbie Beaven to the board of the Society as Non-Executive Director.
Debbie is a qualified accountant and Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Management Accountants, with an extensive career in financial leadership. An experienced board director, her last executive role was at Simplyhealth as Chief Financial Officer.
Last year she completed an Advanced Leadership Programme with INSEAD Business School and is currently studying for a Professional Certificate in Executive Coaching at Henley Business School.
Debbie commented: “I have spent most of my life in the South of England and I appreciate how lucky I am to live in such a beautiful environment. There is a lot on offer for individuals, families, and businesses, so to join the board of Newbury Building Society, which has been serving these communities for 165 years, is a real privilege.
“Culture and purpose are particularly important to me and every Newbury individual I have met shows passion, belief, and commitment to serving customers. The world is changing, and the innovation of digital capabilities is essential for any business to survive, but so too is the preservation of a human touch; never more so than today, as the world faces significant challenges to our health, wellbeing, and security.
“For 17 years I was on the board of a leading international engineering consultancy business, before moving into financial services with Simplyhealth. I hope that experience together with my financial expertise will be valuable in serving the board in the years ahead.”
“I am extremely pleased to welcome Debbie to the Society. Her experience as a board director and her extensive career in the financial services make her an excellent fit as we progress our plans to further strengthen the Society’s position as a trusted provider of mortgages and savings. I look forward to working closely with her.”
