We are pleased to announce the appointment of Nailesh Rambhai as a new Non-Executive Director.
Nailesh Rambhai joined the Board in September 2022. He graduated with a law degree from the University of Oxford in 1995, and has since practiced law at Linklaters LLP and McDermott, Will and Emery LLP. He then joined Coventry Building Society, where he was group general counsel and company secretary. His career has taken him all over the world, and he has lived and worked in Canada, the USA, and South East Asia.
Nailesh is currently a non-executive director at several organisations, including the Pension Protection Fund, UCL Hospital and Birmingham Women’s and Children’s Hospital. He is also a trustee of the charity United Way UK (United Kingdom), a network of over 1,800 non-profit fundraising organisations.
I’m delighted to be joining the Newbury, with its positive and collegiate people culture. The Society’s strong social purpose is consistent with my values and the other organisations with which I am involved. With every decision I will be keeping the long-term interests of the Society’s members and the communities which it serves at the front of my mind.
Phillippa Cardno, Chief Executive of Newbury Building Society commented:
“I am extremely pleased Nailesh has joined Newbury Building Society as a non-executive director. His appointment will further strengthen the Board ‘s expertise with his broad range of experience as a non-executive director in a variety of sectors. I warmly welcome Nailesh and look forward to working with him as we approach a new financial and strategic year at the Society.”
