After intense deliberation from our panel of judges and more than 70 amazing entries, we have selected an overall winner and 11 runners-up in our Design Your Dream Home competition.
From ice cream houses by the sea, to mansions with swimming pools and spooky haunted manors, we were blown away by the creativity, imagination, and skill on show in this year’s competition.
Entries came in from across our branch towns and from a range of ages, but there could only be one overall winner! We’re pleased to announce that our Design Your Dream Home winner is Lucas, age 10, from Abingdon.
Lucas’ design will be featured on the front cover of our 2025 calendar and in the month of April. He also wins a £50 voucher of his choice.
Lucas’ dream home was shortlisted by a panel of judges before being voted the overall winner of the competition by more than eighty Newbury Building Society employees. Voters loved Lucas’ detailed and colourful design, which included a helicopter pad on the roof, underground swimming pool complete with rubber rings, and a room jam packed full of sweets!
The 11 highly commended entries will each be featured on a different month of the year, with each designer winning a £25 Waterstones voucher. Check the designs out using the flipbook below!
Thank you and a big well done to all of the young designers who took the time to enter a drawing in this year's competition. We were delighted to have received so many, and the quality made the judges' job very difficult!
