Penultimate Community Support Scheme of 2024 gives £3,350 to local organisations

During the third round of our 2024 Community Support Scheme funding, we are delighted to have donated a total of £3,350 to 7 local orgnisations across our branch towns. 

The Community Support Scheme provides financial support to groups in and around our ten branch towns. Applications are accepted four times a year, with typical grants ranging from £100 - £500. In this third round of 2024, we have been able to support seven incredible diverse organisations. 

All Yours Period Box CIC

All Yours Period Box provide period boxes to people who are struggling to access or afford period products each month. The project provides period education workshops to schools and community groups. Our donation of £500 will be used to create extra period boxes for the West Berkshire community. Each box can be personalised to the person's menstrual health needs. (Registered charity: 13199829).

Assisted Reading for Children (ARCh)

Our donation of £500 to ARCh will be used to purchase and provide more books for their team of volunteers. They will share these books with the children they support, inspiring them to enjoy reading. (Registered charity: 1146276).

Home-Start West Berkshire

Home-Start West Berkshire is a local charity dedicated to supporting families with young children through challenging times, providing personalised assistance. Our donation of £500 will go towards supporting their 'Early Years Communication Project', which empowers children with the essential communication skills they need to thrive. (Registered charity: 1111171).

One Planet Abingdon Climate Emergency Care

We donated £500 to One Planet Abingdon to enable them to continue providing support to young people, in order for them to gain valuable skills working with the organisation. 

Thatcham Youth

Thatcham Youth is a small charity dedicated to providing both free and low-cost activities for children and young poeple in the Thatcham community. The donation of £350 will go towards funding activities and accomodation for an upcomming residential weekend for some of the youth club attendees. (Registered charity: 1162071).

The Corn Exchange (Newbury) Trust

We donated £500 to The Corn Exchange Trust to provide 45 free tickets for disadvantaged local children through their 'Panto Pay it Forward' appeal. (Registered charity: 1080567).

The Wokingham and District Association for the Elderly (WADE)

WADE is an elderly day care centre, which provides transportation, hot lunches, enttertainment and a range of services such as chiropody, physiotherapy and hairdressing. Our donation of £500 will help them to introduce more art sessions, which help with cognitive function, memory improvement and self esteem. (Registered charity: 1178937).
