Background and experience
I’ve enjoyed working in a wide variety of HR roles over 25 years but my greatest passion comes from identifying and delivering improvement opportunities that benefit companies and their people in equal measure. I’ve therefore gravitated towards HR project and change leadership roles for many years now.
I’ve been fortunate to work in HR roles across different industries, in large and smaller companies and within very diverse company cultures - growing my huge appreciation for how different places can be and the importance of tapping into their unique “special recipe” for what makes them successful.
It’s fantastic to work in an organisation that intuitively understands the importance of creating a positive experience for our members and our employees. There’s a genuine desire to create a great, enjoyable and empowering environment for our people. Colleagues are also warmly welcoming to newcomers and always open to helping each other. There’s a true sense of purpose and integrity working here.
Role and responsibilities
I’ve joined the team this year on an interim contract basis as Employer Experience Manager. We are scoping and delivering a range of people focused initiatives that help our people to enjoy their time at Newbury Building Society and to feel and be at their best. Creating a supportive and vibrant experience for our people is a truly collective effort - involving all our leaders, managers, HR team and passionate colleagues; and my role is providing a short-term boost to getting many of these important initiatives up, running and on the path to success. I love being the spark and the glue that is helping to make this work.
