Ella Bright

Head of Branch Network (Newbury)

Ella Bright

Background and experience

I joined Newbury Building Society in 2007, after completing my A-levels and some travelling.  My first role was as a part time Customer Service Adviser in our Hungerford branch, and after a year working part time I was offered a full time position. After a few years I was promoted to Hungerford Branch Manager. I was seconded into the Business Support Manager role for maternity cover and after 12 months offered a permanent position in this role. In 2018, I became Area Manager for the Newbury area and am still in that same role today. I passed the CeMap qualification (Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice) in 2013 and I am a Registered Mortgage Advisor for the Society, providing mortgage advice to our customers. I hold a supervisory role to ensure that other mortgage advisers maintain competency.

At Newbury Building Society, I’m not just an employee, I’m Ella Bright – a name, not a number. I’ve thrived in an inclusive culture where every voice matters. I’ve stretched my role, developed others and witnessed the vital emphasis on learning and development. It’s more than a job; it’s a fulfilling journey.
