Background and experience

I joined Newbury Building Society after 10 years in various finance roles at Nationwide Building Society, working in the mortgage and savings teams, project transformation, risk and most recently leading the Retail Finance team. Prior to Nationwide, I spent time as Head of Finance at BBC Children in Need along with various finance roles at Bain Consulting and Deloitte.

Role and responsibilities

I manage the Finance team and am responsible for all aspects of financial reporting and accounting for the Society. 

I also support the CFO with responsibilities on regulatory reporting. This includes supporting the finance team with the preparation, review and approval of returns and keeping abreast of the development of new regulatory returns. Further responsibilities in the role include managing and understanding the risks and controls within the business, acting as finance risk champion along with overseeing the annual cost budget process and partnering across the business.
